Last year the West Hempstead Public Library staff participated in National Wear Red Day to support heart disease awareness for women.
On February 6, 2009 we will again join the Go Red For Women movement to fight the causes of heart disease, the No. 1 killer of women in America.
This year, we are encouraging our staff and the library community to sign up for Choose To Move, a 12 week program for women who want to make a change in their lifestyle and become more physically active.

Whether you're a busy mom, a career woman, or enjoying your golden years, this step-by-step program guides you with simple exercises, inspirational quotes, reminders and tips. You may also find helpful advice and encouragement for increasing your physical activity and reaching your goals from seven real life volunteers, as they discuss their struggles and success in weekly blog entries.
