The library is sponsoring three separate Defensive Driving Courses which can remove up to 4 points from your license and reduce your automobile insurance by 10 percent for a period of three years. Each course participant must bring his/her driver's license and checkbook (no cash accepted) when registering and attend all parts of the course to receive credit. Classes are held on the lower level in the Community Room and begin promptly.
DRIVERS OF ALL AGES: Instructor Mr. William Feeley will teach a Defensive Driving Course on Mondays, June 14 and 21 from 7-10 p.m. A $40 check, payable to Defensive Driving Program, Inc. is due at registration which begins on Thursday, April 1.
AARP: Mr. Charles Hlavenka will teach two driving courses for those 50 and older.
Checks must be made payable to AARP. If a participant presents their AARP membership card, the fee is $12. Non-members of AARP or those without their AARP membership card will be charged $14.
- AARP Course 1: Tuesdays, May 4 and 11 from 9:30 a.m.- 1:30 p.m.
Registration for W.H. residents begins at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, April 20.
Non-residents may register, space permitting, beginning on Tuesday, April 27. - AARP Course 2: Thursdays, June 17 and 24 from 9:30 a.m.- 1:30 p.m.
