I really love this mystery series by British writer Shirley Wells. It features forensic psychologist Jill Kennedy and her ex-lover and ex-colleague DCI Max Trentham.
There are four books in the series and I just finished reading her latest one, The Broken Circle. It is good to read the books in order so you can see how relationships develop between the characters in the books. After four books they seem like old friends.
Jill Kennedy quits her high-profile job with the police department and moves to a small Lancashire village to lead a quieter life. However, she cannot escape being drawn into murder investigations led by Max Trentham.
