The third West Hempstead Library Mystery Book Discussion will take place on Wednesday, JULY 14 at 10:30 a.m. in the board room.
The book we will be discussing is A Place of Execution by Val McDermid.
On a freezing day in December 1963, 13-year-old Alison Carter vanishes from the small Derbyshire hamlet of Scardale. For George Bennett, it will be one of his most difficult cases: a murder with no body and an investigation that is stalled at every turn.
Decades later he tells his story to journalist Catherine Heathcote but just when her book is about to be published, Bennett tries to pull the plug. Catherine is forced to reinvestigate the past and comes up with results she never expected to find.

Copies of the book are available at the circulation desk. To register for the book discussion, stop by or call the reference desk.
