New books by Jeffrey Deaver, Dennis Lehane and J.D. Robb will be available on Tuesday, November 2.
The new novel by Jeffrey Deaver, "Edge", focuses on a Washington, D.C. cop, Detective Kessler. Kessler is sidelined to routine investigations so it's a surprise when he's targeted by a 'lifter,' a person who 'lifts' information from people by whatever means necessary. And this lifter prefers to get an 'edge' on his target by kidnapping or endangering their family. While the FBI tries to learn which of Kessler's cases made somebody call in a lifter, the task of safeguarding the detective, his wife and daughter, falls to Corte, an expert in personal security. What transpires is a deadly contest between Corte and the lifter as each tries to outmanoeuvre the other.

"Moonlight Mile," by Dennis Lehane, is the sixth book in his Patrick Kenzie/Angela Gennaro series. Amanda McCready was four years old when she vanished from a Boston neighborhood 12 years ago. Pleas for help from the child's aunt led investigators Kenzie and Gennaro to take on the case. The pair risked everything to find the girl - only to see her returned to a neglectful mother. Now Amanda is 16 - and gone again. Haunted by their consciences, Kenzie and Gennaro revisit the case that troubled them the most. Their search for Amanda leads them to identity thieves, meth dealers, a mentally unstable crime boss, a priceless, 1,000-year-old cross, and a Russian gangster.

"Indulgence in Death", by J.D. Robb, is the 38th book in the "In Death" series. Lt. Eve Dallas of the New York Police and Security Department returns home from an Irish vacation to a string of bizarre murders. The crossbow killing of chauffeur in his limo in a parking lot is followed by the death of high-rent prostitute stabbed with a bayonet. Other victims include a celebrity chef who's harpooned, and "a facilitator for the rich" strangled with a bullwhip. Eve, assisted by Det. Delia Peabody and husband Roarke, uncovers a wicked game that grows increasingly macabre.
