There are currently over 5 million Americans and 35 million people worldwide living with Alzheimer's, according to the Alzheimer's Association.
Alzheimer's is a brain disease that causes problems with memory, thinking and behavior. It is the most common form of dementia. The majority of those with the disease are 65 years and older. It is a progressive disease; symptoms worsen over time. Currently, there is no cure, but treatments are available. Research is ongoing.
