November is Jewish Book Month

The month before Chanukah is Jewish Book Month, celebrated this year from November 2-December 2.

The tradition of celebrating Jewish books began in 1925 at the Boston Public Library where librarian Fanny Goldstein exhibited books for Jewish Book Week. This event became so popular that in 1943, it was extended to a month and has been celebrated in America every year since.

Here are four excellent lists of recent books with a Jewish theme - for both adults and children - prepared by chapters of the Association of Jewish Libraries.
