You've seen the movie, now read the book. Come to the library on Wednesday, JANUARY 19 at 1 p.m. for a book discussion of Blood Work by Michael Connelly.
Though well known for his Harry Bosch detective series, "Blood Work" features ex-FBI agent Terry McCaleb. McCaleb is the recent recipient of a heart transplant. He's living a quiet life on his boat when a newspaper report of his brush with death brings him an unwanted visitor. Graciela Rivers reveals to McCaleb that the anonymous donor of his heart was her murdered sister, Gloria. Even though his doctor objects, McCaleb agrees to look into Gloria's murder but nothing about the random killing makes sense. McCaleb soon realizes that someone is watching his every move and that he is dealing with someone with a very twisted intelligence.
