New September best sellers available

New best sellers by Clive Cussler and Jacqueline Mitchard are now available.

The Race, by Clive Cussler, is the fourth book in the Isaac Bell series. It is 1910 and newspaper publisher Preston Whiteway is offering $50,000 for the first daring aviator to cross America in less than 50 days. He is even sponsoring one of the prime candidates - a woman named Josephine Frost - and that's where Bell, chief investigator for the Van Dorn Detective Agency, comes in. Frost's hot-tempered husband has just killed her lover and tried to kill her. Bell has tangled with Harry Frost before and he knows that Frost won't be only after his wife, but after Whiteway as well. And if Bell takes the case Frost will be after him, too.

In Second Nature, by Jacqueline Mitchard, Sicily Coyne was just 13 when her father was killed in a school fire that left her face disfigured. Twelve years later, a surgeon offers hope in the form of a new surgery that may give Sicily back the grace and function she lost. Sicily rejects the offer: she knows who she is, and so do the people who love her. But when a secret surfaces that shatters Sicily's world, she agrees to the radical procedure in order to begin a new life. Her beauty is restored virtually overnight but Sicily soon discovers that her new face carries with it risks that no one could have imagined. Confronting a moral and medical crisis, Sicily is surrounded by experts and loving family, but the choice that will transform her future is one she must make alone.
