We have scheduled our introductory computer classes for you this spring! We've had requests for this training, so don't miss it. If you're finally ready to take the plunge, or just need a refresher, this is the time!
The evening classes will introduce you to Microsoft Word, Excel, the Internet, or Email. The afternoon class is a hands-on introduction to computers. We still have openings in all of these classes!
Each 2 hour class costs just $10, a real bargain. Please note: Instruction is only for PCs - not MACs. Please come to the Reference Desk to register.
Senior Connections!
Come in and consult our knowledgeable Senior Connections representative, Mary Eide. She can provide answers, advice and referrals to solve your problems. Our volunteer will be available from 10:30 a.m. through
12:30 p.m. on
Tuesdays,
May 14 and
June 11.
Any West Hempstead student entering grades 6 through 12 in September may join the Young Adult Summer Reading Club. Stop by the Young Adult desk beginning Monday, June 3 to signup.
High school students interested in volunteering to work with young children during the Summer Reading Club may apply in the Children's Room before June 14.
A commitment of three hours a week for seven weeks,
June 24 through August 9, is required. Hours may be applied to community service.
Are You Happy With Your Doctor?
The American Board of Medical Specialties Directory (ABMS) is now online. Library patrons can access it from the comfort of home, or on our public computers, to research a doctor's Board-Certified credentials. (You'll need to enter your library barcode, so have it handy.) It's more up-to-date than the print version! We will keep the older print version, for a while.
