Laura La Vacca, a NYS certified teacher and writing professor, will help you learn how to write college admission essays. The common application will be covered but students are encouraged to bring in other colleges’ essay questions that they wish to go over.
Emphasis on style, appropriate topics and other tips will be discussed. Participants are to bring their draft essays by the second class. Be sure to attend both sessions.

If you are thinking about going to college, browse through the College Planning Timeline in the Schools section of our Career Cruising database. Please note that although you can complete most of the necessary tasks in your junior or senior years of high school, you should start planning as early as the eighth grade.
